Tara Practice

Friday evenings, 7:00 – 8:15 pm
The practice of Green Tara can help overcome fear and anxiety, enabling one to open up to one’s own heart of compassion.
The practice consists of visualizations, songs, and prayers, composed by Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche and Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche.

Open Heart Circle

Sundays, 11:30 am
Usually on Sangha Days, 3rd Sunday of the month
Open Heart Circle practice is offered as part of Sunday Morning Meditation .
The Open Heart Circle is an adapted Mahayana practice of sending and taking for all sentient beings who are ill, dying, or who have recently died.
This practice helps us to develop an awareness of impermanence in daily life while awakening our innate loving kindness for ourselves and others. It helps break through the barrier of “me and mine” and reminds us that sickness, death and dying are universal conditions. It offers a vehicle to bring illness and sorrow to the path and to develop compassion for both our own suffering and the suffering of others.

Meditation Courses

Beginning Meditation

Wednesdays, January 8 – 29, 2020 – 7:00 – 8:30 pm
This course is designed to help beginners and intermediate meditators establish and strengthen their ongoing practice. It combines instruction in meditation and embodied mindfulness techniques offered in an interactive Q/A format with group practice in brief sessions. This is an excellent complementary practicum for the Introduction to Buddhism course, but no prior knowledge or experience is necessary.

Weekend Calm Abiding Meditation Retreat with Mitra Tyler Dewar

January 24-26, 2020
The practice of calm abiding gives us pragmatic and accessible tools to ease the coarse distractions and busyness of the mind and to bring forward the mind’s innate ability to relax, have greater focus, and enjoy more and more contentment.
