A basic resting meditation practice is called calm-abiding or shamatha. Open meditation practice begins with a short instruction, chants and then alternates sitting and walking meditation.

We start with mindfulness of breathing, which supports the development of calm and clarity, and is designed to help calm the mind and bring forth its natural qualities of spaciousness, clarity and attentiveness.
