The Northwest Buddhist community is huge, and diverse, encompassing traditional temples from every Buddhist culture, modern practice and study groups, and a growing range of Buddhist-inspired applications by health professionals, teachers, social activists, and others.

NWDA invites you to a day-long celebration of this vibrant, creative sangha on Saturday, November 3rd from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

  • explore shared aspirations as Buddhists and contemplative practitioners
  • engage in small group discussion to strengthen our individual and collective capacities to benefit beings
  • join in hands-on Buddhist-inspired arts, music, dance, and chanting

Join us for a day of connecting and celebrating!

Join us for any or all of the celebration, 10 am to 6 pm.

Lunch provided.

Please register in advance as a courtesy to organizers.

10:00 am – Offerings from teachers from several Buddhist traditions

11:30 am – Sangha News Circle – happenings at sanghas throughout the Northwest

12:30 pm – Vegetarian lunch – dana requested

1:30 pm – Storytelling and puppet play of the “Duck, Death and the Tulip”

2 :00 pm – Seattle Betsuin: Ojoraisan chanting workshop

2:30 pm – Tara Dance Workshop with Taradhatu

3:30 pm – Tea Break

3:45 pm – Sufi songs and songs of Realization

4:15 pm – Mahasangha, Milarepa, Movement  Workshop

5:30 pm – Community dance performance with live songs of Realization


  • Buddhist groups are invited to display information about the sangha.
  • Volunteers are invited to help with set-up, clean-up, and food; email George Draffan.
