In meditation we discover how our conditioned minds work and begin to unwind painful habits of struggle and confusion. By simply engaging with our ordinary experience using the focus of the breath, we begin to make friends with our minds and be present to our lives with greater depth and heart. This process enables us to connect with the fundamental openness, ease, and compassion of our minds, as well as the ability to embrace all aspects of our everyday life.
This course is designed to help beginners and intermediate meditators establish and strengthen their ongoing practice. It combines instruction in meditation and embodied mindfulness techniques offered in an interactive Q/A format with group practice in brief sessions. This is an excellent complementary practicum for the Introduction to Buddhism course, but no prior knowledge or experience is necessary.
