Dying Well, Sacred Rituals and Caring Communities
An Interfaith Conference on Death and Dying
March 8 - 9, 2008
Nalanda West
Speakers and panelists from diverse traditions - including Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Native American and Sufi - will share their wisdom on Dying Well: Sacred Rituals and Caring Communities. Each session will feature participatory contemplative exercises that help transform fear of death into acceptance and renewal while deepening the heart of compassion. A special interfaith celebration of music, performances, and sacred clowning will be offered on Saturday evening.
Whether your interest is primarily personal or professional, this program offers opportunities to hear, contemplate, and incorporate into your life spiritual perspectives on how ritual and community can ease the challenging issues faced during illness and at end of life. The contemplative focus of this conference enables participants to learn techniques to work with fear and grief, to practice compassion to find their courage and to deepen their understanding of the death and dying process.
